How much should I expect to pay to paint my rear spoiler?

Its an aero wing from a 96, no dings or dents, im in NYC. Any thoughts on price?

I paid $450, but required some work on the surface.

That sounds very high even with little work to do. If I have scratches on the flat portion of spoiler only, does the entire spoiler need to be painted?

Can anyone hear chime in, i'd like to be prepared before I go for estimates. A paint can fell on my spoiler and caused 2 deep scratches but only on top of rear portion(flat part) of spoile. If you are familar with this spoiler it seems like this is a separate panel from the rest of the deck lid, anyone know if this piece comes off? If that is the case can that piece alone be spayed with proper prepping? Does it have to come off car? Any thoughts on price?

thanks

anything we tell you is just an educated guess.
I recommend you visit shops in your area to find out local pricing.

ask your PDR guy for a referral?

Wing

To do the job correctly:

1. remove wing
2. take wing completely apart
3. strip paint and prep/glasso paint system
4. assemble install

I would personally pay up to 600 for it to be done correctly.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but these guys are right. Painting requires lots of labor intensive prep work, so that's where much of the cost will go.

I was gonna say $500.

If cost is a bigger factory than quality work, find your color match on Dr. Color Chip (no affiliation, by the way) and you can do a cheap touch-up fix for under $100. It'll look like a cheap fix, though.

I had mine done with some other stuff so I don't know the cost, but there is a lot of work that has to be done. If you have been putting any type of UV protectant on it (I used 303), they will have to work with it a bit to get it to stick. Mine has been done for 3 years with no ill effects.
