Caliper and Wheel refurbishment....gets out of control
Hi Everyone
What started out as a bit of maintenance after 3 months of tough everyday use commuting, turned into a bit of a number. I thought I'd give the brakes a quick once over........turned into full caliper overhaul and powder coat as well as replace the flexible brake lines!! Wheel clean turned into full refurb and routine service turned into new upper rocker covers, (hargett, which I didn't like so I just put the old ones back on and then decided to change out the plugs and plug wires cleaned everything up including dizzy caps isv the lot, put it all back together yesterday and took the old boy out today went really well. Although the cars are a little fiddly to work on it was a rewarding experience not quite the grind I expected. I did have a selection of tools and a compressor and air chisel to cut off the old exhaust bolts and a load of tips and help from Rennlist members.
I had great service from two small firms
http://www.exelwheels.co.uk/ For the wheels, Chris is a very helpful and knowledgeable chap I just went for plain gloss black nicely finished I thought.
And for the Calipers this guy small outfit really professional and Helpful.

I went for Yellow with the black wheels I haven't got any before pics but here's the finished Items
If any Brits out there are looking to do this kind of thing I would thoroughly recommend these guys...........no affiliation blah blah.....

Do you know if they were painted or powder coated?
If they were painted, do you know what type of paint was used?

My big reds are so beat and I really want to get them powder coated. But I don't want it to turn into a huge rebuild project in addition to the powder coating cost.

WoW! They are absolutely gorgeous. What did they charge for caliper refurbish?
