Is a low mileage C2S worth THAT much?!

I know SpeedGelb is a pretty rare color, but is it really worth that much extra?

Its in damn nice shape...probably a 99%, but there are others that are 90% for about half the price.

Tell me why I am wrong....

Define worth...

I'd take a well sorted 30K mile 993 Turbo for less money, personally.

Usually I define worth as "what someone will pay for it."

Well, with 0 bids, I guess nobody else thinks it is "worth" it...

+1000000

I think it's got nice options and since it's basically brand new, i suppose it's worth it to someone, not me though. Also nice to know that at 1.5 bar oil pressure, my car is comparable to this 3k mile example at idle. I was sitting in traffic the other day and saw my gauge dip down a bit below the 2.0 mark to 1.5 and the picture posted is a bit of a relief.

People seem to expect huge premiums for these really low mile cars, in this case I guess the thought is a 30K-40k premium.

Yup, Ilko brings a good point, this all quite subjective.

However, if the car is truly impeccable, 100% flawless and the fact that its a wide-body and last year of production of an air-cooled 911...I can see the logic. But yellow? ...not quite the collector color, its more like you won it in a raffle :roflmao:

No disrespect to yellow p-car owners out there, of course.

I wonder where it falls in the production run...let's see...WP0AA2998WS320744...Oct '97, between eyeslasher1's and bramblegrower's cars.

It's an incredible car, for sure, but it's too nice to drive which is a shame.

It is the color of gold...and we know what's happened to the value of gold recently...

Many years ago I knew a friend of a friend. He has his own business as a middle man, he essentially procures items for the roughly 10,000 billionaires in the world, things like airplanes, mansions, luxury cars etc...

While he deals with a select clientele, they are truly in the class, of "money is no object". If one of them wants a low mileage SY C2S, then it will be sold, and transferred for a fairly sizable commission as well.

In general, though, the supply and demand suggests that this car is overpriced, but if the seller isn't pressured and has time, why not see if you can land a whale?

abiazis 08-10-2011 06:04 PM

$65k tops....the money they are asking is low mileage 993 turbo money.....or 2004 GT3......

or maybe buy a used 997 turbo for 10k more than they are asking....

but KIKA speaks the truth on last post.........

All it takes is 1 person to agree with the seller.....even if the rest of the world does not.

Although, for the record, even I think it is over-priced.

Can't compare this car to the C2S market generally.

It's probably one of the lowest mile cars in existence and the lowest for sale in years. (In fact, I don't recall ever seeing a lower mile car for sale).

All it takes is one person with money that wants it for their collection.
