Motul in '97 C2
All,
I recently puchased the car from a friend of mine and the shop that changed the oil said that they used Motul Mineral oil. For a 10k mile oil change interval, I still have 9k on the clock left. With all the types of oil Motul product line, which one should I top-off with? Any suggestions or recommendations other than just buying that oil to top-off with...
Thanks in advance,

I just bought three 5 litre jugs of Motul 6100 15W50. It will be my new oil, since Mobil 1 is getting unobtanium or stupid expensive in single bottles. I have always changed my oil every 5k miles. Call me wasteful. I call it cheap insurance. I hear the Motul 300 is only for track and/or frequent changes, but it's a lot more expensive.

I just changed my oil in the 993 on my own for the first time and switched from the shop's Mobil1 to Motul SAE5W40. I never thought an oil product could appreciably enhance the driveability of the already smooth 993 engine so quicky, almost immediate. My impression of the engine's valve gear sound seems much quieter.

I got the same oil as Harlan, yup, quieter, smoother & feels a little more peppy. We got the 8100 stuff. I also have the "Specific" 5-40 in my 95 C4. 300v is one of the best oils out there, it's just $45 for 2qts, VS $40 for 5qts of the other Motul.
You can top off with any oil you want/have.

All,
I'm just wondering if a specific oil is no longer approved, shouldn't that just apply to late model cars? Shouldn't all approved oils for 993s during production should still be approved? As of '07, ony MOTUL 8100 X-Clean/Cess 5W-40 is Porsche approved from Motul. Thoughts....
