Front + Rear Camera
My first two laps from Friday, with the cameras pointed both ways.
The out lap is there to show the relative difference in what a 300HP 993 is good for v. a 997 GT3 down the front straight. The next lap was my best of the day @ 2:02.7. Funny how that works out sometimes. Fiddling with shock settings + ever increasing heat (was about 85F on this video v. 98F by the after lunch session) didn't result in going quicker.
The flyer is pretty ragged, and I did have to pass some cars. I laid off for two laps after this, then did a seemingly easy lap that was 2:03.00. Yeah, it's deceptive sometimes.
Next time I'll either mount the rear camera higher, stick it on the outside of the car (not a fan of that), or put the stock decklid on purely to shoot video. Not that I really think I'll be slower without the wing........

Three Wheelin'
rear camera video
I am not sure if it is just me or not, but the video for the rearview does not seem to be working.
Also, how do you know it is a 3.8 with 300HP...

And you're right that we have no idea what size the engine is, nor its power output. But figuring we know what a 997 GT3 can do, I'll rest my case on the video evidence.
Clarification: got a PM asking if I go out that hard all the time. Pretty much. Get stuck with a 15 min qualify and 40+ cars, you learn to get with the program pretty quickly. You're going to do your quickest laps on the first two flyers, anyway. At least until you come in to change something.
And to further clarify, though I title the video "Session 2" it really WAS my first two laps of the day. Session 1 got black flagged when I was belting my student in for a couple of slow recon laps. So all I managed there was a lunchtime-style parade lap so the guy could see where the track actually went.

Nice bit of driving Ken! Lots of sawing at the wheel, driving that hard or still need to tweak?
Never use those GT3 guys or anyone with an expensive car as a speed/time benchmark. Here on the other coast, the most expensive cars have the slowest drivers in them, without failure........but damn if they ain't fast in a strait line!

Ever since the first GT1 class V-8 tubeframer I passed for an overall lead with a Showroom Stock RX-7 almost 30 years ago, I'd learned that big engined cars are merely big engined cars. I just left the GT3 in there purposefully to demonstrate acceleration difference, or lack of.

Exit speed coming off of the turn plays into this A LOT. So no, "a" 993 can't take a GT3 down the straight. Mine's a bit different, though, I think we'll agree. In my experience, it's about 4 car lengths down this straight with equal launch speed off that turn. At least that's what it was with Mooty's '07 RS when we'd run equal times.
You can look for the other videos from May where Cam pulls me in his '07 GT3, and Alan in his '11 RS. But the '07 has short gears, and the '11 RS......well, that's a quantum leap forward.

Here @ 2:05 down the front straight (and this is having crappy RA1s that compromised me almost 5MPH coming off the corner, compared to last Friday):
And here @ 2:00 with the RS owner's son riding along as ballast, to further handicap me:
