Well, I kept the conversation short by just telling him that it wouldn't be for at least three weeks. Odds of me getting back to him? Small.
We'd already discussed what a track day would cost, in the form of a non-refundable deposit against the car.
Here's to hoping another shiny (cheap?) object appears on the horizon shortly.
Which leads me to another story:
Guy at last event shows up with a 993 Turbo. Seems competently driven, but much slower than me. Stops by to ask about my car. Find out his is stock, he's had another 993 Turbo that was heavily (and poorly) modified, then after that a regular 993. He's renting a garage a few spaces down, so when I get there Friday AM there's a "993 bodied thing" being rolled out of a trailer. Old GT1 car from back east, progressively built off of an '87 930. Picked it up cheap. So he'll have fun with it, and spend less than half-assed bolt-ons to the 993 Turbo. (It was the race car getting warmed up/off pace in the video I posted on the other thread earlier today.)
