Default Hi! I'm new to this forum and looking

Hi! I really love 993s and its been my dream car since high school.
I'm wondering if theres anyone who's willing to trade there 993 s model with 98 C43 with a lot of good stuff in it. I got this car last Nov at 43k miles. When I got the car I wasn't going to spend money to mod or anything, but what ca you do when you're bit by a mod bug.
Since then I put in more than $30,000 in it and this C43 is probably the best looking and performing one out there. Please let me know if anyone is interested.

Don't think a 993 compares price-wise to a MB C43. I have not seen a running 993 for low teens. Consider selling the C43 and searching for a well maintained 993.

Thank you for the kind words : )
I know selling the c43 would be the best bet, but since I spend so much its hard to let it go.. this car was first hand built car from AMG factory, and it was the first car they produced after Mercedes bought off the AMG.
I've had 996s, some bmw Ms, and some AMGs, and all of the cars I had were faster and newer but theres somthing about these 993s....
I actually was about to purchase one back in 2002 but I thought the price would drop more and got the M3. That was my big mistake.... who knew the price of 993 c2s would hold its value like an airplane?? I mean even airplanes peak there value when they are like 4-5 years old and they start depreciate.
So, I just wanted to know if theres anyone who would be interested in trading, since my c43 is the best out there. It has supercharger, Kleemann headers, Supersprint resonnator and exhaust, KW V2, KMAC f/r camber kit, H&R f/r sways, 18 inch AMG monoblock with PS2 (it came with 17 inch), and changed almost all suspension parts (of course all oem). The car puts down 400 rwhp and it drives smoother than stock. These were all done by dynocomp in Scottsdale about 4 month ago and the car was in the shop for 2 month to complete. Nothing really done on the outside though, new headlight covers and clear fog lamps and thats about it. I prefer stock looking car over those transformers, unless its done with oem.
I love this car and wouldn't even trade it with 997tt. The only car I would take over this car is 993s.

Welcome...I have a 2000 (1 of 22) that's approaching 109k miles as its my daily driver.....

I would suggest selling your C as the price point is way different between the two cars.

Here's a 98C43, local to me, that recently sold on ebay for lil money http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...d=250945791623

BTW, the 993 will feel very slow compared to your C.

Motorsport,

Didn't mean to come off the wrong way. I have a friend who recently sold his 99 C43 30k miles, mint, for low teens. I know they are great cars, but the market is no where close to "S" 993s. $30-40k difference in price.

Explaining your upgrades is cool. I have had AMG cars and they are amazing. I cannot imaging what your car is like with the mods!

Good luck!

Oh Mr. Texas993 it didn't come the wrond way sir!! My is about 50k miles soon and I thiknk I'm keeping it as well : ) When I got the c43 last year I paid about 12k for it and then spent about 32k since then : )
I had a c36/43 fever when I was in high school. I was on a dilema to get a 993 or c43 but decide to get c43 and save money for lambos. Yup I wasnt planning to spend 30k on it maybe some lowering spring and that was it. Then the mod bug bit me, and now I'm thinking I should have got 993s.... : (
Mines a rare one with blue two tone ineterior as well. I know the price of the two cars are at way different point, but I was trying to see if anyone was willing to trade and I dont mind shelling out cash for the right one : )
I don't mind getting one with upto 150k miles on it as long as it hasnt been in an accidents.
Maybe I should just shell out 50k and get a lie time keeper : )
Anyways here are some pics!! Pic quality isn't that good some are ipone and some are leica but i suck at taking pics : )

The C43 is a clean automobile. But like all 4 door benz's they sink in value when a newer model replaces it. shame because they really are great drivers.

you will be hard pressed to get any money out of your mods and even harder to find a 993 guy interested in trading unless they got a new kid on the way and you got a lot of cash to trade up....

The 993 bug is a great bug to have. They really are a special car to come out of the 1990's. Timeless is why. True to the original. classic.

In order to feed this addiction you need to walk away from the benz at market value for a stock benz and consolidate your funds into a tidy 993. Hold the 993 forever and perhaps someday it will make up for the loss on the benz. If not for resale, but in ownership satisfaction.
they have character, and that is something one cant simply buy in a new car nowadays...

cars will come and go but i will always have my 993. (and my 997RS )

Welcome to Rennlist. You're smart enough to find your way to this group, you'll have no problem finding the right 993. There is not another group anywhere with the collective knowledge of this lot (myself notwithstanding). Good luck with the search!

Nice 43. My car is on a set of lowered springs and #2 pads. I also swapped out to a set of 210 AMG's...

I would give up your hope of trading the C43 for a widebody 993. Unless you're going to include $35k cash in addtion, it just isn't going to happen.

On a related note, there are lots of well-modded 993's right now that are having a very tough time getting sold. Although your car is nice, I have to assume a heavily modded Benz would be even tougher.

Good luck though. Hope you can get your dream car.

I've seen two or three great cars for sale on here recently. Some nice ones to be had right now.
Might sell the C and buy direct.
Best of luck!
