How would you price this?
993 coupe
80-90k mi
Lowered suspension
200 cel exhaust
Regeared trans
RS clutch/LWF
Protomotive turbo stage 1 kit seemingly done well
Just curious...I'm having a hard time how I would value such a car.

It's funny- once you get to 80K, the value of even the most expensive mods seems to melt away a bit. The re-geared trans makes many people wake up and pay attention, but the turbo probably has a plus/minus effect for no value gain.
Put a gun to my head and make me pick a number, I'm going to say $33K, assuming it's not GR or Black. $36K is not too much if everything is perfect. No way should the seller let if go for less than $32K.

Higher mileage and those type of mods cut down the number of potential buyers. If they are mods you are looking for, you are in a good position. Usually, anyone who does those type of mods takes good care of their cars. Be guided by a PPI. Good luck and keep us posted.

Wow. If something like that is worth low $30s then what's my yellow car worth in the right hands?
If you're looking for something like this as a track car, "lowered suspension" will last you about your second lap out there. So add how much to get that worked out.
Regeared trans? Who/what/when? Sometimes it's chasing a unicorn, isn't it? I don't know what was put in your car (Tom's old one, right?). What I can say is that mine is near perfect for Thunderhill and Sears, and completely, postively miserable at Laguna. As in I don't bother taking the car there miserable.
Turbo? How many cars have we seen absolutely fall to their knees when pressed into track duty with aftermarket forced induction? And I don't mean the light duty, beginner little-better-than-parade laps. 90F+, 90% humidity days you guys get back there.
Ultimately, you can bolt on a bunch of parts and end up with much, much less than their sum............

Depends on other options on the car, color combo, how far do the records go back, & over all condition of the car.
For me a super clean well maintained, cared for car will be 20%-30% more then a used unloved car.
I would say high $20's to low-mid $30's.

I've noticed (and others have pointed out) about these pricing threads... If a RL'ers looking to sell their car, people's estimates tend towards the high side. If a RL'ers looking to buy a car, they tend to be on the low side.
It's hard to place a solid value on this car, because there are a lot of variables. We don't know the year, condition, suspension, NB/WB, etc. Let's assume that it's a '96 Polar Silver NB with PSS-9s in decent used 80K mile condition. That being said, I'd say that if I was looking at that car and everything was in good nick and checked out okay and I was looking for a re-geared trans and an aftermarket turbo setup, I'd probably go as high as $35-36K. That's if I would have been planning an aftermarket turbo mod on whatever car I was buying.
I think the general rule of thumb of 50% return on mods doesn't necessarily apply to aftermarket turbos/superchargers. Just my opinion, YMMV.

To me, the aftermarket turbo/SC kits detract from car's value. If someone wants such a setup, it may be worth seeking out but I think these mods reduce the potential buyer pool considerably. Again, just my opinion.
