Default Shift Lever

So, within the last 4 weeks my 1995 993 of 87K miles has begun to give me clicks when I shift. The shifts are still smooth and effortless. There is nothing wrong that I can detect. My psychiatrist wants to know if he should be prepared.

I'm certainly no expert, but I believe the bottom of your shift lever is connected to the shift rod by a plastic ball and cup assembly. When I recently had the FD Motorsports shifter and GoldenRod installed, my stock plastic ball and socket were so worn they fall apart. This would have left me stranded, so I'm doubly glad I did the shifter when I did. Perhaps a worn ball and socket are the source for the clicking.

I charge $300/hour.
