Couldn't resist this one...
Seller's remorse, a lack of really good 993tt's on the market (in the right color combo) & the empty space in the garage were all hounding me... As soon as I saw Pewter's thread, I knew I had to have it. If the right TT turns up, then I figure it out, but as of right now, I'm thinking about a TPC kit!
Less than a week later I was driving her home from MO - 700 amazing miles in 8.5 hours with just one stop for a refill. Beautiful sunny day all the way through MO, IL, IN and MI - and no real traffic.
Jason (Pewter) is a great guy. We had a few long conversations & I couldn't have been happier with his description of the car (almost flawless). Within an hour of landing, the deal was done & I was on the road and calling Darrin at FD to get a set of Bilstein's on their way. He was of course more than happy to cut in the extra 30mm of thread on the fronts completely free of charge....
The Bilstein's arrived on Thursday & were installed along with my ROW M030 springs on Saturday over at a good friend's (Disasterman here) amazingly well equipped race shop/pole barn. It's always a privilege and a pleasure to take my cars over there... How many friends do you know that have a full race alignment & corner balancing set up (along with the brain to use it...)? Our typically fashionably late wrench (Eniac here) turned up just in time for the install of the new parts and as usual was careful and knowledgeable, ensuring a perfect result.
I haven't had a "real" drive yet, but so far after a day I'm very happy with the transformation caused by the Bilstein/Row M030 set up.
The K58's went on this morning prior to a brunch run out to a great restaurant in Chelsea. This car is so nice that I'm planning on getting a set of tires mounted to the WB Speedlines.
Other than a little front bumper adjustment (thankfully the color match is perfect), getting my split grille rear deck painted, a few interior mods and a re-tint using a lighter shade, I really don't need to touch this car much. The polar silver / midnight blue combination has really won me over too. I always knew that I liked PS, but by the time I got the car home I was smitten with the interior too - even more so now.
Happy days.
Thanks again Jason & good luck finding a GT3!
PICS!

Nick. Great to have an enthusiast like you close by. Made the same drive when I picked my car up a few years ago. I stuck to two lane roads and it took me two days. Your new TT is beautiful my favorite 993 color. Congratulations.
