Default Diagnostic tools for 1997 993

Hi all, I was wondering what everyone used as a OBD II to help with diagnostics. I saw this http://www.ot-2.com/overview.html but I can't find any reviews that do me any good. I'm open to suggestions...

Thanks!

I bought an Actron CP9180 in 2009. It was inexpensive ($132 in 2009) and very user friendly. I have used it on the 993 and have used it on several other cars. This model has been discontinued but there are several other Actron OBD II readers listed on eBay.

Normally the handheld or software based "OBD II compliant" readers only can connect to the DME engine management computer, and not the alarm, CCU, air bag and ABS units in our cars.
Cheers,

Agree with Tore. Depending on what you want to do and budget I think the best kit is from Durametric. The basic kit does all of the above and can be used on three cars (per vin number)...about $290.
