Good for you, Chris ...sounds like we got something in common there! What a joy it is to be able to "arrive" at a goal, eh? Kudos to ya!

Nearly 7 years on the 4S, and 4+ on the faux RS. Move from either to what, exactly? I know I'm one of few to move from each 911 generation from a short wheelbase made-into-an-S '68, through these last of the air cooleds over 31+ years now. I appreciate the cars for what they are, and what they are not.

Question I continually cannot get a legitimate answer to is: how much faster can you drive on the street, and how skilled are you to really exploit what's beyond this generation of car on the track? (I get that the answer to the first question differs depending on where in the world you live.)

I've found my comfort zone, and given current economics I'm perfectly happy to reside in this neighborhood. Now, if a giveaway 996 cab drops in my lap (was offered a fairly decent one for $15.5K two weeks ago), maybe I get one just to drive around town. But that will be kind of like my tenure with a couple of 928s and 944s that were basically abandoned to me years and years ago.

Bought my '96 in 1998, so 13 years now. Won't sell her.

I had an '86 for 8 years when I bought the 993. Didn't plan to sell that one either, except the ex-wife bitched every day about having to park in the driveway. After six months of that, I sold the '86. Regretted it ever since. I should've gotten rid of her then and kept the car.

'66 911 from 1990 through 1996, and I regret selling her everyday.
'95 993 since 2004, I have driven her 30,000 miles and I will not make the same mistake about selling this one.
And I really need another long hood...

About 3 years with my 993. If I were to replace it, which I have no plans to by the way, it'd be a turbo. I like the "go-cart" feeling of the 993.

Had a 914 for 27 years until I got the 993 almost 6 years ago. Expect that I'll hang on to the 993 as long or longer than the 914.

27 years with my SC. I think 6 with the 993, lost track. Never sold a Porsche I've bought.

My 993 has been my only Porsche and I've owned it for over 7 years. I will never sell it- it has never given me a reason to want to. Next up is a GT3RS, but I'll only pull the trigger if I can keep both.
