^ You are correct, those would be the soft back sports seats.

Question for owners with sport seats, the embossed Porsche crest was an option, how often do you see the hardback sport seats with the Porsche crest?

Those are not the 993 softback sport seats. The ones pictured are from an earlier car - pre 94.

The ones I posted in this thread are 964 seats and the ones in post 12 are 993 seats. Very close to the same, but different stitching and don't know if anything else.

I don't think they'll work. Chestnut is really a red, not a brown.

Those are the "softback" sport seats but not the 993 version. 993 version has different upholstery.

As to the "crested hardbacks", they seem to be fairly uncommon but not super-rare. Of the sport seat equipped 993s I've seen, about 40% had the crests.

Sidenote: someone here scored a set of heated/crested black sport seats in great condition (couple marks on the back, not concourse) for $2K CDN in January. Definitely a good deal.

I see the difference in the stitching with the 993 being curved across the seat. From now on I will describe them as the same as a 964's. They are quite supportive and comfy, but not like my Sparco seat.

Interesting seat in post # 7 of that thread as well.

Inka

The seats are actually red -- Maroon -- it's not a great photo.

SHoot me an emial at joshuaweinstein@ymail.com. A better pic with the color would help, but, of course, only so much. You're in Chicago, I take it...?

I've only seen a few cars with the chestnut interior. I remember it being very attractive, and definitely not run-of-the-mill, but couldn't recall in my mind the exact shade

I'll get a couple more too you.

No longer in Chi -- moved out to the Rockies a few years ago. It wasn't cold enough in Chicago...

Softback sport seats for the 993 are the same as the softback sport seats from 94/95 968s. The ones earlier pictured are from a 944 or 92/93 968. 964's shared those earlier sport seats with early 968's and late 944's.

I didn't quantify that they were not 993 soft back sport seats. My mistake! Yeah, no telling how many checked the "crest" emboss option for their seats at the time.

If I'm giving you stupid money, it'd more likely be for the SY faux RS, not to swap seats in my humble little daily driver.

Relatively speaking, it wouldn't take stupid money to buy yourself the yellow car. The more proper question is whether the car would be money well spent unless you can fully exploit what it's all about. 'Cuz it ain't made to be a street car........
