Seeking a 993 Coupe
Hello all,
I've had a 997 C2S cab as my daily driver for a while and I've recently acquired a 964 RSA. The 964 completely turned my head around as to what a 911 should be. I've decided to go air cooled only with my life. Thus I'm seeking a 993 coupe to replace my 997. I've a budget in the mid 40k range. So any out there who might wish make a move on your 993 or know a great example I would very much appreciate the help. I'd also like to say this board has been a great source of information and enjoyment and cemented my intent to obtain a 993. Thanks to all.
Regards,
T.

With that budget you could definitely snag a great narrow body couple and perhaps a decent C2S or C4S. Posting here that you are looking is a good start- that is how I found my car! Good luck with your search and welcome to the dark side!

Agree with Brendan. Mid-40's you are in wide body territory or low-low mileage narrow body range.
Good luck with the search and welcome.

Thanks guys. Glad to hear it. Actually I think the narrow body appeals more to me but if a reasonable C2S came available ... then I'll just need to find someone to take my 997

Sure. 2006 997 C2S Cab. 32k miles, Basalt black on black, sport exhaust (original available), carbon package, sport shifter, less than a year old michelin pilot sport 2s, new dunlop winter sport 3d snow tires, clear bra, no nav. I'd post a couple of photos but I'm away on holiday. I will do later tonight.

The 997 is an amazing machine. I've used it as my daily driver and have enjoyed every minute driving it. The capability of the car is breath taking. I've come to realize however that the 997 is a GT car and not really a sports car. It's incredibly quick and can be driven fast with ease. That comment is not meant to take anything away from the remarkable 997. After recently obtaining a 964 RSA I've totally fell in love with the more intimate feeling of air cooled 911s. So it's a 993 narrow body for me for a more pure, if you will, experience.

Keep your 997 for drop top days and daily duty rain or shine.
Dump the 964. The 993 is the replacement you want for your air cooled keeper.
Having a 964 and a 993 are too much the same. Unless you are a collector and do not care, the 964 will be parked for ever next to a 993 when it comes time to grab the keys. Think of a 993 as a better 964.
It would be like buying a 996 and a 997. Why bother with a 996?
For a 993 purchase, consider the color interior and exterior you can live with, and look for the lowest mileage non modified example you can find for you budget.

Hi TNR911,
I posted this to another post:
I was going to wait till April to post my narrow body C2 but it is actually it is ready to go.
It is Black with Cashmere interior. The only thing I have not done is the struts for the hood and the trunk lids. I have been conflicted as to the right ones to get as I do not want the hood springing up...it should just be counter balanced.
I have done some mods that are "normal" for us Rennlisters as listed below. Majors are the PSS-9 Bilstiens and the Kinesis Wheels. Of course, the muffler mod is awesome!
The mileage is 53,xxx and so far there is no CEL. I always drive long trips to get the car fully warmed up and always try to hit the VarioRam after warm up. I have tracked it about 4 times and have owned the car sense 1998. It does not get much winter driving in the rain.
We have been starting too many businesses and I do not have the time. These cars should be DRIVEN!
Let me know,
Bruce
