Default 95 993: Engine cuts off after hitting bumps

I drive the same route daily and a few bumps in the road cause the engine to cut off for a moment. Only once did I need to restart it. It seems to be getting worse and am not sure if this car has had it's wire harness replaced, or if it was included in the recall. Leads me to believe something is loose, either DME relay needs replacing or something else?

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Sounds like your car is victim to a bad wire harness. Call Porsche tomorrow and have them run your VIN to ensure the recall was performed.

Maybe a bad knock sensor?

Check with dealer, the car has a new harness? Any other low hanging fruit I should check?

The battery ground straps go bad with age - it's an inexpensive step too purchase a new one and see if your issue goes away.

You might also want to make sure your engine ground strap is clean and not loose.

You can do some checks by leaving the car at idle and wiggling the harness connectors in the engine bay, fiddling with the bonnet fuse block, relays and fuses, move the battery cables around. Alternator too...don't forget the power connections on the driver side in the engine bay under the plastic cover too.

Don't forget to check the DME connections under seat, alarm connections, etc.

If it happens over bumps you should be able to find it using the wiggle test.
