Default 2012 National PCA Parade---Salt Lake City, UT

Just noticed the 2012 PCA Parade is in Salt Lake. Dont worry, no **** drinking laws exist if you want to go out for a few beers. Thats all changed and no "membership" fee's. If you want 12% beer, go to The Bayou on State Street---they have over 300 beers to choose from. By far the best beer selection anywhere around and a cool place to hang out and eat.

For those who may want to stay in Park City, which is 20 minutes from downtown Salt Lake City, there's a great place to rent in Park City!!

#1 ranked property in Park City, UT on Tripadvisor.com out of 500+ places.

Legal or not, I'm pretty sure that "**** drinking" is still viewed as some sort of sodomy by BYU's honor code.

I fully believe in the BYU honor code. You sign the contract and break the rules, tough. Jim McMahon signed the BYU honor code contract and he.......well....he didnt get caught.

^^^^ too much information!

Glad to hear that the parade is going to be in SLC. My sister lives in Park City. That makes for a good reason to visit!

Awesome!

Wifey and I love the 'desert-south-west' - in particular Utah with all its fantastic National Parks.
I swear to God, when I retire and have had it up to here paying these bombastic property and state taxes in the state of New York -- I am moving out to the DSW to live out (and camp out) my remaining years.

Its a great place to live and dont think you could drag me out of Utah. Utah is ranked # 1 for quality of life in the US. Dont tell anyone---its one of the best kept secrets out there!

We had the Intermountain Region PCA Opening Social and a board meeting last Saturday. Our guest was the Parade committee Chairman and he discussed the Parade and answered questions. And look ... a 993 made the front row at the Market Street Grill (pic below).

The Parade hotel is the Grand America right downtown. The concourse will likely be on the State Capitol lawn. The region is looking into having a DE the weekend after Parade at Miller Motorsports Park. It should be a good time.

We are a small region so we need some help. I especially would like to appeal to the Porsche enthusiast community to help us get cars for the historic and special interest area of the concourse. We need cars of significant Porsche history either as a model or as an individual car for display. We don't have a lot of those in this area so we need some help from Colorado, California, Florida, ... . There is compensation if you bring a car or recommend someone who brings a car. I'll buy you a beer or two (we do have some good microbrews).

Sucks that they rarely have this in the northeast.

Road trip.

It was in PA in 2005, Quebec in 1999, Lake Placid in 1994. They try to rotate around the continent. I think that the 2011 Parade was initially announced in Vermont but was changed to Savannah for some reason.

Nothing on the PCA website as yet. I'm sure someone will post when there is.

Can't wait!

The dates are 9-13 July 2011. The local region is checking availability of Miller Motorsports Park for DE and possibly club race the 14-15

There probably won't be a lot of info posted until after the 2011 Parade this July in Savannah. The only thing on the PCA site now is the location.

I think the folks in Vermont reneged on their promise to redo the Autocross course (or something like that), the thinking being that perhaps it was too late to find another venue. PCA left for Savannah.

Hmm, I may make this one. I'm not a fan of the "desert look" of the SLC area-a bit too barren for my taste, but it has its high points. I'd assume we'd have some good driving roads. Throw in some track time at Miller, and its a lock!
