'spensive! Aren't they all?!

I think these belong to a rennlister.

I think the same seats were advertised here for the same amount. They are nice, but probably priced high or they would have sold. They are most likely worth mid 3K IMHO

They are a very nice example. I have a set in the Rivi Blue Cab or I would be putting on the negotiating hat

I would say $3750 as the heat option is rarer. $3500 for unheated. But in mint condition, which these look from the photos.

I'm still fairly new to the 993 world. I bought my car in August, but I've been very involved in the early 911 community for years. Compared to what early 911 seats sell for, 993 hardback seats seem reasonable to me. For grins and giggles: original 72-73 vintage Recaro sport seats with sliders and locking tilt bases in A+ condition are $5-6,000 a pair. I just freshened mine up, swapping the inserts (went with a tri colored houndstooth...tasty) and replated some tarnished cad plated hardware and spent $1200. Oh yeah, I think these seats weigh about 45 lbs each, but they are comfy!

I also have a set of Recaro fiberglass racing buckets from the early 70's that are much lighter and hold you in place much better, and are damn cool looking as well. I have correct bases, but original sliders are virtually unobtainable. A set of correct single locking sliders might cost $1000-1500, but I'm guessing as I've been searching for 2 years and haven't come across a set. The seats alone in great shape, properly recovered are a $4000 set of chairs!! Worse yet, they hurt my back after a few hours!!

Also, the "gotta' have" items for the early cars seem to rise and fall in popularity and values follow accordingly. Things like thru the grill and hood mounted driving lights, flat Momo steering wheels, seats, hood emblems, and other cool period options can soar in value when everybody wants the latest.

I'll wager that hardback 993 seats will be a much more costly option before you know it as they are pretty rare and desirable. It's pretty clear to me that the same passion exists for our wonderful 993's as they are the last of the air-cooled breed as there is in the early 911 world that appreciate the pre 74 cars before impact bumpers and smog crap, all mandated by the us gov.

You make a great point, but the 993 sport seats have not seen that level yet. Not to say they won't that is why
I am holding on to mine. Time will only increase the price, but $4500 right now is strong or they would have sold as they are very desirable

Apparently, in 2010 HB's hit that high water mark here on Rennlist and mine would easily go for $5-6k off the reservation...say at LA Dismantlers. See post # 7: https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...ort-seats.html...and these were unheated, w/out new driver's side switches and not in stellar condition. ;)

I see the heated part as a negative

CorrdoBrit 02-27-2011 02:51 AM

Well thats because you live in TX;)

Yeah, a nice little feature to have for the cold weather folks...extremely hot on the bum and it extends well up the backrest - no blower heat really needed! :D
