+993. DO NOT leave SD without a trip to South Beach. If the weather's good, there's no better place in the daytime: http://www.yelp.com/biz/south-beach-...ille-san-diego

Brigantine in Del Mar for fish tacos. Another good hotel choice would be the L'Auberge in Del Mar. Trendy, just remodeled, active bar and a 2 minute walk to the beach.

It hasn't been a Four Seasons for over a year now.

It is now a Park Hyatt. Still nice, but not quite the same standards as the Four Seasons.

I can see that hotel from my house across the lagoon - just a point of reference.

The new Grand Del Mar is pretty impressive depending on your budget:

I highly recommend the Estancia hotel in La Jolla. Stayed there just a few weeks ago. Quiet, friendly, clean, good food, very nice bar, great pool, nice little gym. And they have just sent me an email about a rate freeze/offer (no affiliation).

well, you obviously have excellent taste even if you do not like white Subie wagons.

Find a hotel close to Filippi's Pizza Grotto - best Italian food I've had in CA.

I'm partial to Zia's Bistro, but all the places in Little Italy (just north of downtown) are generally great (and there's a Filippi's as well). FYI, Little Italy is on India Street. (huh? India?...yeah, go figure!)

There are several better Italian spots in Little Italy and the Gaslamp.

BRING YOUR UMBRELLA, it's gonna be wet here for a while. Forecast is pretty much rain for the next 10 days.

+1. Right in the middle of the cougar triangle, too. (walking distance to some active bars with an "older", cosemetically enhanced clientelle)

Sorry guys but it's pretty well understood that while South Beach is good...Lahinas in Pacific Beach right on the sand has the best fish and shrimp tacos in the country. Hands down.

I wound up booking at the W San Diego. Unfortunately most of the selections made here either have multi-night minimums or are already booked... Thanks for the help with everything. Pics to follow...

I'm not saying or admitting to anything else.

The W is a great choice.

Fun bar with lots of action and close to all the SD nightlife spots.
