Or even if you don't. One of my old customers had a 2.7L car that went ~160K on the original engine. Somehow. Fully rebuilt the engine, probably tended to the trans. He caught me out washing the car last year and he's still got it with close to 300K. On a mag case/mag trans car. He wanted to know if I was still working on cars since it's been going just fine with only regular maintenance since the early '90s.

Great to hear the mileage people are getting out of the stock motor. My car is currently parked for the winter with 99,6xx on the clock, so I'll be over 100k in no time. I plan to keep the car forever, so each passing digit is another memory, not a dimunition in value.

We have Porsche owners club here in Taiwan with about 400 members. Among us, many also own Alfa Romeo, Aston Martin, Audi, BMW, Ferrari, Lambor, Maserati, Merc etc. We compare cars and race them all the time. Our ultimate conclusion is that the old, air-cooled 911's are the most durable and reliable ever built.

I sold a 1977 2.7 two years ago at 186,000 miles it had a mag case an the trans was like brand new it was also never apart an the motor was never apart. the car ran just like it was a new one. I put in new oil every 4 thousand miles it did not burn any oil they are really great cars. Vernon.

On my return home with the Rivi Blue Cab I turned 100K. Sitting in the garage with 100,778 right now. I plan on driving it. I already broke 100K so there is no turning back at this point.

Glad to have another higher mileage 993 in the 'Ville. Seems like everyone else around here has alot less miles on their 993. Although she still has another couple of hundred left to go, I went ahead and had her detailed to celebrate 100k/7 years of ownership! Here are some pics:

The Cologne architect and artist Klaus Jürgen Pfeffer has his Porsche for 22 years.
The car has already passed 626,000 km.
It is the Porsche with the largest kilometer run power to the first motor world.
Now the car is to make it into the Guinness Book of Records.

Wow, based on the translation it looks like he had the engine rebuilt at 530,000 kilometers or ~329,000 miles. So in other words my engine with 181k miles on the clock has plenty of life left in it.
