Looking for a 96 - 98 C4S or C2S Pittsburgh, PA
Hi all. I am a new member here. Excellent 993 forum! Very impressed. Hopefully somebody can help me out. I am looking for a Black, White or Midnight Blue 1996 - 98 C4S or C2S in and around the Pittsburgh, PA area and prefer a Private sale and not from a STEALER! Car has to have service records and low # of owners and not beat to hell and back. I am having a very difficult time finding one for sale. I am NOT a dealer. I have owned in the past a Lapis Blue Boxster S 01' and a Black 95 993 C2. Currently looking to fill my garage space once again. Please post any pics of ones you would like to sell, any contact info, advise, help etc ...Thanks a bunch! Greg

This is the best place to start looking for one. Joining as a member gets you to view the "for sale by members only" section as well. Well worth the very small annual fee. Also, you are familiar with Steinels in Twinsburg Falls, OH. I've used them on a couple of occasions for service even though I'm near NYC. They are an independent service shop; perhaps one of their customers has a "S" body 993 for sale. Call and ask for Eric Steinel and if you're ever near by, stop in.

It's actually just Twinsburg, OH. Contact Eric or Andy at 330.425.8582.
Greg - if you get over this way to look at a C2/C4 S, PM me and I'll be glad to meet up with you to help or take you to lunch.

I have known Eric Steinel 20 years and he has cared for all 4 of my 911s. I have nothing but the highest regard for him and his staff. They know their stuff. He had a customer looking to sell a beautiful, low mileage black/black C4S last year at this time, but I think it sold.

Good luck with the search.
One thought-- many drop in here searching for a WB 993 only to come back weeks or months later reporting that they are all over priced. (Not sure what they are expecting) In truth, the market is what it is.... Really nice WB's are hard to find, so if you find one that moves you don't let it get away....

I hear ya, but remember, in the Spring, the prices fo UP cause everyone feels like they can be patient in the winter but then they get anxious when the weather warms up... Enjoy the search...

Looking for a Manual 6sp. I know one exists here in the burgh... come on! I really don't want to travel out of state because I have zero time right now. Would prefer a local sale in and around the Pittsburgh area. Thanks!!!

Try expanding you search to the North East...NY, NJ, Pa, Ct, etc. You'll have much better luck I'm sure. I initially looked nationwide, just couldn't pull the trigger on a car sight unseen. I certainly wasn't able to fly all over to look. Ended up getting mine in Northern NJ.
Don't forget the Rennfax option also, plenty of members here more than willing to look at a potential car for you.
and...drop the $17 for the membership here on Rennlist. It'll be the best Porsche money you'll spend, certainly the biggest bang for the buck.
This site is da bomb.

Good point Magdaddy! I'll keep my options open in the Tri-state area. I keep telling myself we are in a Recession! Somebody must need the $$$$$ ! ! ! ! Again no hurry on my end but I am still being agressive in my search! I will pony up the $17. Seems like an AWESOME 993 Forum! Wow I am VERY IMPRESSED!!!! Thanks again guys!

I have a sneaking suspicion you are going to be looking for a long time... You want an in demand wide-body style, in top condition, in only specific colors, a manual, sold by a private seller (no "stealer" as you put it) who is basically local to you, and for a bargain basement (recession driven) price. There is a reason the likes of TruSpeed, Sloan and RPM ask big money for what you are looking for...
... This is all vaguely familiar to me ... LOL
