Default Looking for a good independent workshop in Brisbane Australia

Hi, I need to get some work done in Brisbane and was hoping some Oz Rennlister could recommend a good workshop. I usually do the work myself but am away from home in Townsville where all my gear is.

I need to get the clutch looked at, master and slave cylinder and to get the fan belt replaced, which has a stripped socket head cap screw, courtesy of myself when I changed the alternator and air conditioner belts and attempted to change the fan belt. Why on earth would an engineer opt to attach a pulley with soft socket head cap screws?

I once saw written about the styling of the BMW F650 motor bike, 'That's what happens when engineers take acid.'

What were the Porsche engineers on when designing the fan pulley?

Many thanks

Greg,

I know of only one good mechanic in QLD - Bobby at Porsche Centre Gold Coast.

He knows his stuff on the "older" cars - The service managers name is Reuben - give them a call on 07 55917928.

Tell them I sent you (at your own peril )

Simon.

Thanks for the info Simon, I was hoping to find one here in Brisbane. Taking the car to the Gold Coast would require time off work.

Many thanks

I know 10 or so years ago I used these guys.

They always had a good reputation back then, and they are still in business after all this time.

We have the same problem over here. I have to drive for 4 hours each way to get anything done.

Hi Stephen, thanks for the link, I'll give them a call on Monday, they're just around the corner from me in Newstead. Hopefully they're still in business and weren't flooded.
