The gospel according to Ludvigsen
He says that in the the calendar year 1997, 380 narrow body coupés were built and that for the model year 1998, all body versions were kept available. The last narrow body coupé was a black C4 that was delivered to Ulrich Bez.

Some interesting info here but still no "my NB coupe was built...." info other than Allen's 11/96 C2. Lots of evidence that the NB coupe was available ROW a while after it's demise in North America but again, nothing concrete (we need build dates!). Vaujot, there's a picture of Dr. Bez's 993 C4 coupe, visible from his kitchen I believe, in an issue of Autocar circa 2001.

So who has a NB coupe with build date later than 11/96?

C4 was available as narrowbody. Although according to Wikipedia, the narrowbody C4 is much rarer than the C4s. I certainly was not aware of that.
According to Ludvigsen, Bez' C4 was the last narrowbody coupé produced.

OT: Does anybody have a list of Seinfeld's Porsches? I always heard he had an impressive Porsche collection, but didn't realize that the guy was hellbent on acquiring these rare/"last" cars. Would love to know what he's got. Of course, his famous Turbo S was just awesome. Anybody know where that thing is now btw? I wonder why the hell he sold it.

Tim/Allen-- Similar to what Allen's starting is the concept behind Leland Pate's massive 35-page thread "Post yer VIN!." Although its stated purpose is only to identify siblings on the assembly line, may be wonderful if its resources could be cross-referenced for your goal.
If it possibly helps, I've lopped off 993s produced before Nov '96 from Erik (rsr91128)'s recent update. Probably not enough info by itself, but may help your search gain momentum or get you rolling the right direction. Good luck!

Model Year = 1998, VIN = 1196, Build Date = 12/97

I've also posted something on 911uk.com with a link to this thread to check on some ROW cars.
