Porsche Rauh Welt Or Sunburst?
Hi guys so I was wondering if anyone knows how to actually get the wide body kits made by these Japanese tuners? I would really appreciate it if anyone knows a dealer in the U.S for Sunburst because it seem less expensive and seems to be the best wide body kit for the Porsche 993 you can email me at nigo786@gmail.com

Don't forget the stickers! They wouldn't be fast or furious without yellow stickers. Remember, every pound of stickers adds 2 hp.
|
I have never seen anything from Sunburst state side. I e-mailed them a few months back on shipping to the US and didn't hear back.

Oh ****, not this here too! :crying:
Look on the 911 forum here and on Pelican and you'll find some lively discussion on these cartoon-looking-whatever-you-want-to-call-them. Hint: I don't think you actually have to get in any line to wait. |
so does anyone know any other good wide body kits I could put on my porsche 993

There's this "RSR" flare-rocker kit that Thatcher did. Don't know if it's authentic or if you even care:

Some of those look pretty bad-ass. For a track car, why not?
|
The insides of those cars leave much to be desired, from most of what I've seen. There are some looonnngg and passionate discussions on Pelican RE.

Hey Nigo check out FVD Brombocher sp?
They will have all the RSR/GT2 bits, some oem too. http://www.fvd.us/ I love these junked up goblin cars, I mean that too. Soo ugly they are beautiful. |

I'd still like to see one of those cars:
A. Be able to take a spirited drive on a SoCal mountain road, and come home with said bodywork intact. B. Run a desert track like WS, Streets , or similar, and come home with said bodywork intact. They may last a Miller Motorsports Track. |
They do look a little extreme for me even..
but who cares... we all have a little different tastes.. BUT, what's with all the re-parking, and backing up over and over??? must be rear view mirror delete... :p |
You're right, we do all have different tastes. It's just that some people had posted that these were all but the "second coming" in the 911 section and on Pelican, and the debate was definitely polarized. In fact, the intro smacked of a promotional sense, starting literally with the line "The line starts here". As for me, I'm surprised that so many can get enamoured by big fenders.
Actually, the OP here has it right-find a source for the body kit you want, and build your own. This RW-san character does not strike me as a quality builder or tuner. Before I get flamed, I come from a background of "if it looks right, it probably is". I've built and flown an airplane, in addition to my "semi-agressively" modified Targa. Shoddy workmanship and safety do no go hand in hand in my world. My comment really in essence was that I last expected to see the RW debate in the 993 section. |
I've seen lots of pics and read articles on these cars and really not impressed. I've said it before and will say it again, those cars are pure show and barely any go. Most of them are 911 chassis with stock 3.0L engine.... In the first video, you hear a bunch of ticking valves. Very aggressive exterior and stock interior. And what is it with the weird stickers, I guess the weirder the better!!
