Question about tow-eye ?
Last year, i blew a tire while driving on a freeway in Nevada and rather than figure out how to change tires for the first time with cars flying by inches from my rear (mine and the car's), I called a tow truck. He struggled to find anything to wrap his straps around to pull the car up on his flatbed, and finally got them on the front wheels.
Every since I've been wondering whether I should have screwed the tow-eye into the front bumper, and whether it would handle the strain of pulling the car up an incline. Any thoughts or experience?
thanks,
Gary

lol, think about what you're asking us man!! "Should I have used the tow-eye for the tow-truck driver to towmy car up the towtruck?"
I think the answer would very likely be yes.

Thanks for all the replies. Sorry if the question implied its own answer, but lesser minds need help from our more experienced and wiser brethern. I do think I'll have to remove my rear license plate to look for that tow-eye hookup, just in case.

Must have been an inexperienced flat bed tow truck driver. I recently needed to have my car towed and the tow truck driver did not hesitate. He asked me to pop the hood, then he fetched the tow hook, removed the cap, hooked it all up towed my car away. Then he even took the hook off once the car got to its destination, put the cap back on, and placed the tow hook back into my trunk.
