Becker 220 CDR with iPod connector in my CAB with modified faceplate. OEM look with modern connection and good sound. I also updated the speaker with OEM look to. I'm happy with.

went with the Kenwood Excelon KDC-X794. Modern look, but classy and clean without a lot of colors or flashy crap.

Actually it's the 305s - but the 303 is identical in looks.

You can get an AUX input from Becker for the 220. It's $20: http://www.beckerautosound.com/parts/index_porsche.html

Here's how I did it: https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...atch-your.html

Retro clock display - ignore the date and time - reset the battery a few days ago.

First I called Becker USA and ordered a Becker Porsche CDR 220 with modified faceplate and warranty. Website here http://www.beckerautosound.com/ but I called 201-773-0978 and made my order and payment via phone. Important, get the modified face plate!!

Then I went to this webpage http://www.discountcarstereo.com/detail.aspx?ID=993 and ordered the cable for the iPod. IMPORTANT - depending which iPod you will use you need an adapter to ensure that the iPod will get charged as well instead just playing music. I use this adapter for my iPod nano http://www.discountcarstereo.com/detail.aspx?ID=1320 The adapter for the iPod goes into the CD player plug. So Either CD player or iPod. Both won't be able to use.

To make the iPod work on the AUX you need to set it up with the radio which may takes 3 minutes. Helpful information are the attached PDF and zip/PDF files.

I also upgraded my speaker in the CAB with OEM look. I got the matching speakers and instruction for installation from this company [http://www.caraudioinnovations.com/porsche.htm I didn't go with any sub or whatsoever. Just told them I want a system to upgrade the factory speaker.

Overall I like the setup. In general I listen to the engine but sometimes for longer drives I enjoy music too.

Jack

As an aside, does anyone know if the current lineup of Becker radios will work in the US? This one is awesome too:

This OEM replacement shown here in my son's 964 is still available.

This is obviously not for everyone but it does have some advantages.

I love it! Inexpensive, no distractions, great sound (the engine!).

Another install of ida-x305.
I only listen to an iPod when I drive, so I don't mind the lack of other functions.
It's not that intrusive in appearance, but I wish the lighting could be changed from the blue to white or orange - & what ever happened to the traditional Alpine green?

Hello!
In Europe, Becker indianapolis pro is quite an attraction. It has Bluetooth, mp3, navi, all in such a small display. I addapted and dismantled an Porsche CDR 220 in wich i ingested the electronics from an indianapolis pro. Now i have the best radio available, 2rds tuners, navi, cd, mp3, bluetooth, in one elegant and original solution CDR 220.
