Very cool color. Interior is not some garish nightmare, either.

Ed Burdell 07-30-2010 09:57 AM

Two thumbs up!

"Looking Gooood"

Paul K 07-30-2010 10:44 AM

I'd like to see how the colour looks in daylight...

Alfaguy2 07-30-2010 10:51 AM

I like it too - would want to see it in the metal though as I am sure it would be very difficult to match properly if one panel had to be repainted.

SPD YLO 07-30-2010 11:14 AM

what's not to like?

IXLR8 07-30-2010 11:38 AM

Very nice! I was going to call it ice blue.

A bit pricey, but I guess those are the going prices in the UK.

£35K is nearer the mark.......

H.H.Chinn 07-30-2010 03:03 PM

I like it!! Very Cool!!

CorrdoBrit 07-30-2010 03:23 PM

Hard to make a judgement call. That studio lighting is VERY intense and is probably affecting the shade somewhat. Plus the photos seem overexposed

tbil 07-30-2010 03:47 PM

Not bad, I like the unique colors. Perhaps a shade girley, need to see in sunlight, but the sport seats make up for that.

simpsoap 07-30-2010 03:55 PM

What a cool color! I think it looks very nice.

grab it before someone else does, its nice to have a unique version.

reads like its been sitting for 5 years, maybe if you go for an hour drive you could produce some valve cover or chain cover leaks and bid the 35k like 911pervy says is the going rate.

Canyon56 07-30-2010 06:44 PM

I like it, too. But the light and exposure might be skewing the color. It looks a lot like Ice Green.

Mike J 07-30-2010 08:30 PM

That color is great, too bad the steering wheel is on the wrong side! :-)

JPP 07-30-2010 10:07 PM

Ocean Jade is one of my favorite colors. It came out as special order on the 964 America Roadster and then carried over into the 993 Special order list and Boxster as well. It is a much more beautiful tropical-water green than the pictures in the link show. Here's a California Carrera S in that paint color:

I really like that color as well. I found an Ocean Jade '98 tip in the San Antonio area on ebay about two years ago. It was gorgeous but it also had the green interior. The black cab top helped out a bit but that was a lot of green. I would own it now if the price had been right. I like my 6 speed anyway.

1pcarnut 07-31-2010 01:51 PM

I like it, definitely a distinctive color. Greens aren't for everyone though and I believe can be a little harder to sell down the road.

Agreed. ^^ Mobile.de describes that as Blue Metallic.
Even though Paul Stephens' (OP) lists theirs as Ocean Jade Metallic, their studio photos look more blue than green, IMO.

^^ Reminds of Horizon Blue 968 Cabriolet photos I saw two decades ago
Those pix were washed out too, & were striking.
HB examples, but in more standard lighting:

It's a bad photo, the colors are overly saturated. Plus it's not tagged with a profile and depending on your own monitor, OS, and web browser, who knows what it really looks like.

But I did tag it and then checked some neutral points like the wheels and the exhaust tips. It had way too much blue in it. After getting those reference points to read pretty much with an even RGB, this is more likely what it looks like in the flesh. Although again, monitor variations and the OS you're using (Apple vs MS vs Linux, etc.) plus the web browser you're running will make it look different.

I still think it kinda looks like Ice Green (?) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...-13-250-a.html

Quadcammer 08-01-2010 10:58 AM

I like it, but don't think I'd ever buy one in that color

I would, with black interior/aluminum package, hardback sportseats with painted backs to match ... When I look at this car, I see a Speedster ...

http://forums.rennlist.com/upload/98...e_metallic.jpg

Still trying to figure out what that black thing is in the middle of the hood just in front of the air intake ...??

Let's discuss in person next week, shall we?
I PMed Jeff, whom you wanted to meet. His old e-mail address isn't working; I'll let you know if I hear from him.

FYI: just posted my tentative schedule on the "Submit Photos for 2010 Calendar - Information Here!" thread.

I think spending an extra 5K on a widebody Speedster conversion on some other Arena Red Cab would be the right thing to do..., no? There's only five of these in the world .....

Still not sure about Monterey/my schedule. I've got things taking priority right now and it doesn't look like it's gonna let up soon. I'll keep you posted ..
