Slippery slope cont'd
3 Attachment(s)
had the front bonnet rug trimmed and edge'd to display the monoball's and strut bar. Also, replaced the rear seats with the black set acquired from RL'er pstraub-thanks Paul!
Got the Blk/Alu handbrake and shifter today, but...ebrake handle is unbelieveably bent, shifter has a couple of small tears in the leather, and one of the previous owners must have worn a few rings on their right hand. Dismantler promised to make it right. I'm sending him pictures tonite, and will await his answer tomorrow. Paint shop still doesn't have the split grill painted...hopefully by Wednesday. And sooner or later, Darin has a "BIG and LOUD" package coming my way. |
Looks very nice. I would like to know though... what benefit can that strut bar possibly provide without a diagonal? Seems like a very marginal improvement. For that matter, even a diagonal seems like it would provide modest gain as well.

Looks very nice! I like the work on the trunk carpet, looks better then just cutting it. |
Very nice Joe, you're a Black Diamond slider for sure. How'd that weekend ride go?

It boxes the struts.

Strut bar ties the towers together in tension to resist 'spread' under high load cornering with resultant loss of negative camber.
Proper diagonals tie the strut towers to the front frame rails to reduce torsional deflection, but IMHO this isn't necessary or even desirable on a street car ;). To the OP, nice carpet work! Sorta like assless chaps for the monoballs? |
Really nice work done on the carpet!

I think you are more like on a double black diamond run!!! Fun to watch! :corn:

LAPD?
Andreas I have offered three solutions to them; 1-return items, as they were mis represented, full refund including shipping 2-negotiate a partial credit back on my CC, and I'll try to make the ebrake work. With the understanding that, after it is securely bolted to something, I'll be attempting to bend it back to semi straight. If it comes out unacceptable...it'll be theirs again. Also, try to "polish" the pitting out of the shifter knob. 3-solution with their input.-seems they had another ebrake available Considering the prices of these items new from gert, especially the shifter, I can certainly live with less than perfect specimens. I'll know more this afternoon. |
