Default duckTail weight?

Do they really weight 40 lbs less than the stock lid?

Yes. My fiberglass ducktail from MA Shaw was about 9 pounds. The stock tail and lid was 46 pounds. And that was the cheesy foam/rubber tail.

My ducktail from Getty was also 9lb, the stock electric lid was 26lb, about a 14 lb difference if I recall.

What car are you guys talking about? The 993 stock decklid/tail assembly weighs about 25 pounds.

+1. I wouldn't mind some clarity here as well. What is the net weight difference between the stock decklid with retractable spoiler and the aftermarket ducktail with grille etc.

I think he was referring to the SC on his avatar comparing the OEM lid with tail vs the ducktail.

Sorry about that, I was talking about the SC "whale tail".

Sorry, didn't include the grill, but it's plastic and pretty light, figure 1 more lb, so 10lb +/-. Still very light when you feel the two side by side.
