Default Any other Rennlisters going to the NY Auto Show on 4/3?

http://www.autoshowny.com/

I've been going up the past 4-5 years or so with the Pennsylvania Porsche Club that's based in the Middletown PA area. I drive up to my uncle's house in York PA (he has a 2009 Boxster "S" in Seal Grey, Brown interior, brown top that he loves to death) at about 7am from DC, then we drive to meet the PCA tour bus that's waiting for our group at a hotel in Middletown, then up to NYC with the club members. We usually get to the Javits Center around 11:15 am. It's a great time and on the way back they show a Porsche related movie. 2 years ago they showed the movie Cars, and last year they played an excellent documentary showing how the Audi team prepared for and raced the grueling 24 hours race.

If any other Rennlisters will be there that same morning maybe we could exchange cell #'s via PM's and hook up for 15 minutes to discuss the show - at what better place, the Porsche area. They usually have really cute ladies there too at the Porsche area, a little bonus for us guys. Maybe we could meet at 12:15pm?!? Any takers?

Mark your calendars, we will be back at the Jacob Javits Center from April 2-11, 2010 and we will have some of the hottest cars and trucks ever seen all under one roof. That means more sneak peeks, more brand new '10 & '11 production models and more concept vehicles than ever before. Tickets will be available starting in November.

Both the 911 Carrera Coupe and 911 Carrera S Coupe received new engines for 2009. Thanks to a 6.2 percent increase in horsepower, the 3.6-liter engine goes from 325 to 345 hp. Similarly, there's a 5.5 percent gain in torque, from 273 to 288 lb.-ft.

The 3.8-liter engine in the more potent 911 Carrera S Coupe exhibits equally awesome results. This hedonistic acceleration is compliments of the new 3.8-liter engine's gain of 30 hp, from 355 to 385 hp, or 8.5 percent, and a 5 percent improvement in torque, from 295 lb.-ft. to 310.

I'll try to follow up when as the date approaches, but I HAVE to get you to look up some of the women we met last year on the Panamera intro tour. And whom we also bumped into on the West Coast show swing.

I used to go, but I have lost interest almost completely. Same cars, super packed, annoying people, and nothing really I want to look at.

I'm passing this year.

Steve, I have a favor to ask. My wife is due for a new monster SUV. Infiniti is introducing their new QX56 at the NY show. Could you take some photos for me? Interior/exterior please.

It is not being released until July. The exact date of our Escalade's lease end.

No Porsche content is this post, yet ... I love my RUF!

I usually go but on a week night. I'm sorry to say but on the weekend (and especially opening day) it's way too crowded to be able to look closely and enjoy any of the vehicles...

I'll probably be there at some point, but not sure when. As Ilko, I usually try to go after work at night when it's not super packed as it is on the weekends.

I'll let you know if I end up going on the 3rd. Sounds like a cool trip they have setup!

I'll try to remember. I rarely bring my camera to these shows as I simply go for the camaraderie with my Uncle and his neighbor that both come.

Thanks! No worries if you don't. Probably be lots of press there.

Have fun.

Am I the only 993 Rennlister going up on the 3rd then? I should be there around 1145am and leave around 2pm. Planned to go to the Stage Deli right after the show like we usually do but my NY friends are telling me that other delis for Corned Beef and Pastrami sandwiches are better? Must do some more research on this .

Carnegie Deli or 2nd Ave Deli instead? We tried Katz's 2 times ago and my uncle didn't like it. Oh well...

Cheers y'all.
