Why don't more cab owners install ROLLBARS? ...not eye-pleasing? ...not OEM?

Jager and others, what specifically is the roll bar make/color/finish on the 993 cab pic in post #57? I would actually consider doing this as the car is virtually identical to mine and the scale of it looks right in relation to the car.

Tony-- Glad you like the look. I found that photo in 2012 on adrianCrawford.co.uk, which is now williamsCrawford.co.uk.
Their e-mail's info@williamsCrawford.co.uk.

Speaking of scale, the geometry may be similar to the top of 1 on eBay: "Porsche 911/964/993 Roll Cage Bar" by seller porschec2scab; item #201043213756.

The 1 in #57 may be covered in black. This 1's wrapped in gray leather. See what you think, & good luck!

I have an Autopower roll bar sitting in the garage. I got it thinking it would add some rollover protection but could not bring myself to drill through the floor boards. Call me chicken I guess, afraid of hitting something important like a brake or fuel line. I agree that naked rollbars are not the best looking but you could get some nice rollbar pads and cover them in leather.

Craig-- Good point: not installing for fear of drilling through lines.

I noticed a thread asking if a rollbar will fit in a Speedster that mentioned aesthetics, so more pics for more opinions
Very well done yet again, Jager. Your rollbar is as aesthetically pleasing as anyone could make it, and it does not detract from the Speedster lines in any way. Yet another factory addition to your car. Well done, but then I have come to expect nothing less from you.

Maybe someone should figure out how to retrofit the pop up ones from the 996, they are all over eBay.

Kevin-- Sounds perfect!
How to install so they're aesthetically & structurally effective?

Robert-- Sorry, I could have been more clear: those were not photos of my 993,
but they hopefully help tcsracing1 (Tom) re: his recent 964 Forum "roll bar fit in Speedster?" thread.

Current pics of my ride are linked in my below signature block
...where 'Speedy' is seen without a rollbar, but with RLers deep in thought about an artful solution

Why not use the boxster roll bar shown on the first page? They seem to be available on the cheap ~$150. What modifications are required to make them fit?

Thanks,
Mike
