Was thinking wow, until I saw the interior photos.:surr: |
For a minute I thought that the first interior pic was photoshopped. My mind could not grasp that someone would order that color combination on purpose. Wow.
|
But if it were silver/black or black/black who'd give it a second glance? Think of how the typical house was "decorated" 35 years ago..........
Any of you guys familiar with Kiln Red, because those pictures sure don't come across like I remember it. Much more of a copper tint, right? |
The exterior color is gorgeous! Should funds ever permit, I'd love a late 930, and a '95 928 GTS to keep the aging Dung Beetle company. Oh, and a 50's-era Beetle.

First 911 I ever drove was a 77 911S in kiln red with a cork interior (1990 or so). It was beautiful.
Friend of mine was a Porsche mechanic, he said, "No way, Jose" on a 77. Got an 80 SC in silver instead. Few weeks later, saw the 77 at a gas station, it had suffered an engine fire. But I've always loved that color. With green, not so much. |
That Turbo was mine. It has a very interesting story, being ordered through Weissach by a gentleman who finished third at Le Mans, behind a guy named...Newman.
The color is in fact a great combo. based on antique mountain furniture colors. I had it at a timed 275 Km/h on the german highway. Very well sorted car. No sunroof, no AC, no alarm, sportseats and very sports chassis. |
Call me crazy but I can appreciate that crazy color combo and it sounds like an interesting car.

+930!!! That thing is awesome. After you've lived with Polar/Marble grey for a while, a little color looks like a breath of fresh air!
Add an interesting history, zero crash damage, and presto! |
