Sumi's or Bridgestones
I know that there are a ton of posts on the Sumi's but there is almost nothing on the Bridgestone RE760's.
I am going to order tires Monday and my local Fireston dealer has a good price on the Bridgestones putting them within about $35 (for the set) of the Sumi's.
For the record I am looking for 275/40 and 225/45 17's. My car serves as a weekend fun and backup car as well as track days with the local PCA.
So if the price was taken out of the equation, should I go with the Sumi's or the Bridgestones?

The Bridgestones are RE760's.
They look like a pretty nice tire.
They have a 340A A rating compared to the Sumi's 300AA A rating.
Has anyone here run the Bridgestones?

I'll start off by saying I've bought 2 sets of the Sumis so far and couldn't be happier with them on my 993. They handle very well, and are also very smooth and quiet compared to the Michelins and Pirellis I've had in the past. That being said the Bridgestones have had good reviews on TireRack.
Here is the link with the comparison data between the two:

The search parameter was for my 325 wagon but the tests are what you ought to read. I prefer to put more weight in the test results rather than the survey results since the that is a real time comparison. If you scroll down towards the bottom of the page you can select the tests.
Both are good tires, probably can't go wrong with either.

fwiw i'm lovin' my most recent set of bridgestone re-11's.
Curious to see what the wear is like, I got 13,000 R/25,000 FR out of my last PS2's.

For price alone the Sumi is the best. But once you go beyond the price, there are much better. For track days you might want to get a better tire. How hard to you push the car, & how many track days to you do? If you are in the A run group & do 4+ a year, this is not your tire.

Dunlop Star Spec Z1, BS RE-11 and Yoko AD08 are, IMO, the best street/track performance tires going. For the street my 993 rolls on AD08s and Mich PS2s.
