The first question that I had was regarding the oil level indicator gauge. The dipstick is reading half way into the twisted bit but the gauge is pegged at the bottom. Faulty gauge or should I add a bit of oil. The pressure gauge is reading almost to the top of the gauge at speed.

Congratulations on the car-that is a beauty! My oil guage works fine and has since I purchased it two and one half years ago. I can read it just fine. Now if I could just read the dipstick

Thanks for the XRD tip. It does indeed show XRD on the options stickers - that's one that i couldn't decipher. Glad to know that it had the red callipers from the factory.
994C4S - thanks! Hope you are still getting some driving weather. We dodged a bullet yesterday, 20 cm of snow an hour east in Halifax - none here. With no salt on the roads yet I'll get another couple of good driving days.
