Default I need a cabrio, is yours for sale?

So here's the deal:

My ol' man is itching to spend money. He had a corvette for 20+ years that he never drove, sold it recently and is now what? thats right, looking for another (this time a mid 60's vintage).

I HAVE however started to sway him towards our beloved 993's for which I have been instructed to find "it" and he would partake in our side of the slippery slope.

What I need:

- 1995 (edit: other years considered 95 or 98 preferred)
- low miles (60k and under)
- silver with black/black on black/black on beige would be the first preferences, other may be considered, I don't believe red is in the mix though.
- NO TIP's
- NO stories
- NO or only cosmetic (non collision) paint and needs to be top notch
- wire harness recall done
- ABSOLUTELY NO mods (he's a purist type) unless original parts accompany the sale and are minor

essentially needs to be a trailer queen, or just shy of (clean and tidy something akin to Andreas car yes he one of you clean everything types )

price negotiable, PM me with details and they will be passed on. He has cash and is ready, but I must find the absolute right car or I'll never hear the end of it!

EDIT:
If you guys don't help me, he'll end up with a 50 year old, over priced piece of crap that he'll make me put on my lift and work on!!!

Default Hmmmmm

Let's assume that you are 30, your dad was 30 when you were born...that makes him 60ish. He wants to drive a 6 speed? If he wants a Tip, I have a very clean one for him in San Luis Obispo, CA that meets all your criteria...except tip. Look it up at Smith Volvo, San Luis Obispo, CA. Call Brent Smith...he is the resident Porsche geek on site and will be able to answer all your questions.

No commission of financial renumeration for this recommendation...BTW it is Grand Prix white, the only REAL Porsche color, IMHO!

Well the math is off, but I won't hold that against you lets go with 39/65 and he wants a 6 speed. His days are filled with automatics and he wants that last blast in a cool sports car. I don't believe white even remotely in the mix, and a Tippy to boot

thanks though

Default 30/60 just my initial guess...

I hope you dad finds the car he wants. 993 trailer/garage queens are getting harder to find...so I hear. I can't think of a finer car than a 993...been good for me, been good for you....

Martin,

We're in agreement on one thing (white) but I think the OP's Dad deserves a bit more credit than a reference to maybe needing a Tip at 60!?

For the record, I too came over from the Corvette side. Had 10 of them over 20+ years and was also looking for another (66 Big Block) when I happened upon the idea of a Porsche. I had never driven or even sat in one until mine arrived in the trailer from California. I still love old Vettes. I was and still am a diehard fan. But..... I can't believe just how good my 993 TT is! I highly recommend the switch and have not regretted the choice for a minute.

I can't believe he has only one 993 cab left for sale in his inventory but it very closely meets your requirements. Tim Holt Motorsports has a '97 black cab with only 25,000 miles. He only sells stock and with original paint. I bought my '95 aventurine green from him back in April. Drove back to western NC (Franklin) with zero problems from his business near Philly, PA. Take a look at his web site if you don't mind a 1.5 day drive. I'm sure it is about the same distance for you. Just click on his inventory at www.holtmotorsports.com Expect to pay a retail price but his showroom is something to see. Good luck with your search!

Oh sorry, I don't believe Pops is interested in dealing with dealers. We'd like to keep this private party. Dealers don't make money unless they steal from Peter and sell to Paul for retail + or pay top dollar and ask even more (and so I don't get bashed, I'm sure this doesn't apply to all, but....).

Why wouldn't he want a car with an upgraded suspension?

That's just silly IMO.

Yikes! I'm not sure what I was thinking....in one of those moods at that moment.
I apologize if I offended anyone with my off color comment.
Tips are sooooooo much fun!
