Help on jumping the A/C compressor
I'm trying to get my a/c clutch to engage and get freon into the system. After a pressure test, the high and low have no pressure at all. So after looking at many posts about the subject, I think if I can jump the compressor, I'll get freon in and get things going. However, I'm not really clear on what to jump (switch or single wire), where it is located and is it done with a small piece of wire in the switch, or run a wire from a 12v battery to some other wire on the compressor. Any pictures of what I should be looking for would be perfect to really understand the process. Thanks for the help.

There's probably a reason why the compressors isn't starting mate, and starting it manually will not conjure up some coolant from hidden sources inside the system... I'll recommend to get a trained A/C specialist to refill and check for leaks.
By the way, there is only one wire on the compressor. I believe that disconnecting it and feeding +12V on that will engage the electrical clutch and start the compressor.
Normally the clutch would get the correct +12V signal from the CCU, only interrupted by the high and low pressure switches in the trunk.

Hey Mike! I'm local!
I had this problem last week....Just buy the cheapo hose thing from an auto parts store. Hook it up and start the 134 into the system. The compressor will start as soon as the sensor sees the freon in the system. If it doesn't, you have a different problem. I'd put in a can of the 134 with the yellow dye to show you where it is leaking while you're doing it.
The compressor clutch will only engage if: 1. There is enough freon pressure, 2. The outside temp is high enough, 3. switch pushed in on dash, 4. Interior temp selector turned to cold.
I just went through the whole troubleshooting process only to find that my evaporator core is leaking. FWIW, i got an excellent quote from Vortex to replace the evaporator with the upgraded Kuel unit. Part is supposed to be in today!

Yes to the above. Don't try starting the compressor without R134a and the appropriate oil in the system (also add dye). The pressure in the can along with a vacuum in the system will be sufficient to push the R134a in. You can probably fill the whole AC system without starting the engine. You will eventually need to start it up to make sure it is topped off. GL
