Thanks - the 599 is a factory 2010 HGTE

Correct - individual choice. The factory are documented to have built 2 cars in the 'Special wishes' department - the narrow body for Butzi, and wide body for Jerry Seinfield.
The majority of 3.2 Speedsters were wide bodies, with a handful of narrow bodied cars, and the reverse applies for the 964's.

I would agree with this. If I were to do it again, I would have 9m build a narrow body Speedster with an emphasis on RS style weight reduction, chassis stiffening enhancements and engine/torque improvements .. but what COLOR would I choose??? Maritime? Rubystone? Jellybean?? Oh ... the choices, the choices

When you say "If I were to do it again" do you mean "a second time", or do you mean "instead of SpeedArena"? Because nothing beats an Arena Red widebody in my mind for a 993 Speedster.

^^^ Thanks and don't get me wrong, I love my car ... BUT ... with my present perspective, if it were November 2010 again, I'd be discussing a narrow body build with 9m.

^^^ I prefer the contours and handling characteristics of the narrow body chassis and IMHO it really is what Max Hoffman's original philosophy and vision for the Speedster was all about. Open, simple, light, purpose driven design.

I have been pondering a build. A big fat assed Speedster is awesome, but something to be said for a pure and simple narrow body too.

Narrow body, Black on black or possible red interior. RS wheels and Suspension.

Are you sure? That's quite cheap, in Germany you won`t get those parts for that amount.

Yes, I did that, but it's still to cheap. Are the german spar-part-prices so much higher??? My proofed calculation for all Speedster- and wide-body-parts is about 80'000 Euro incl. 19% VAT, based on the german standard-prices...

To add to that list of characteristics, part of Max Hoffman's idea was that the Speedster would also be cheap(er), generating more sales and helping to establish the brand in the US.
