I had a spare DME realy for my 968 for eight years and never needed it. It was the best $26-27 I ever spent. If I hadn't carried the spare relay, sure as I'm writing this I would have needed it.

I haven't yet got one for my 993, so I better get on the stick.

I stop at Porsche dealership because I'm driving by and buy a spare DME relay. I get in the car, turn it over and it won't start. I change the DME and it starts instantly. The original DME was for a 944 which I also noticed in my previous 993 when I changed the DME. Illustrates that the 993 was partially built form Porsche parts bin. Pretty smart car to know I had just bought a replacement relay.
