Another one from Germany
Hello, y'all,
have been reading here for a while and finally decided to sign up. I have a 993 Coupe in Iris Blue with marble leather interior with now about 55k miles made in '95 (non-varioram), that was reimported from the US (first owner was a German expat in Texas). Since it was first sold in Texas, it has the desert options, i.e. dark windows and light-colored interior but no buttwarmers, which I miss in the winter.
As for the slippery slope: I have the M030 suspension with Bilstein HDs installed and a three-spoke stearing wheel from the 996.
Lets see if I can get a picture posted...Hey, that seems to have worked. Shows my car on the way up the Klausenpass in Switzerland, which was the site of a famous hillclimb in the 30s. The record time is still held by Rudolf Carraciola, I believe.
For the summer, I also have a 1962 Alfa Romeo Giulia Spider, also in blue. Daily driver is a BMW 325ti, unfortunately not in blue.
Best regards, Valerian

Beautiful car, welcome aboard! I was wondering about the lack of side-marker lights until I read your entire post. I love old Alfa's as well, please post some pic's of it as well some time.

Welcome. Love the color of your car! You should post more pictures of your car in it's "natural" surroundings - I love Germany, too!

Hey.. welcome aboard!
You have my kind of taste! I owned an Alpha Romeo, Guietta Spider Veloce in my younger years, changed to Porsche in 1964, now after 7 other Porsches, we settled on a 993 C2S. Looked at a Zagato which got me hooked again on older Porsches some time ago...
Air-cooled Regards from up here, Calgary, Alberta Canada.

Of course it has aircon. Imagine a car without a/c in Texas. Would be a rolling sauna.
Here's another pick of the 993 and one of the Alfa. The Alfa has an interesting story. Like the Porsche, it was originally sold in the US and reimported to Germany. I have the copy of a title from Chicago in my files. I have been wondering why you'd drive a convertible in Chicago, it seems to me that half of the year it is too cold, the other half too hot to drive with the top down. The Alfa has never been repainted or restored so you can see all the scratches and dents of 40+ years on her. I am always wondering whether I should have her repainted but have not done so to date. After all, Sophial Loren never had plastic surgery, either.
Best regards, Valerian

Next one from PFF in Germany - some colour as my drive - and likes to go in the alps.
That matches.
Was treibt Dich hier hin, Valerian? Hoffentlich keine Probleme am 993-er?
Allways a good ride,
BR, Stefan

Stefan,
nothing wrong, fortunatelly. I signed up to be able to see the photos, responded in a thread and then felt it was good etiquette to put up an introduction post.

Beautiful cars Valerian, I love the Guilia also. You should start a mail order business for all of us here in the US that want to get the Porsche Way DVD that is only sold at the new museum! ;-)
