Just thought that these may be of interest, pictures of the stunning new Devon GTX at it's launch party at a private house on 17 Mile Drive overlooking Pebble Beach, on the Friday night before appearing at Laguna Seca on Saturday:
I had the priviledge of being invited as part of the Singer 911 crew which was press launched a few hours earlier in Monterey. Rob (the man behind Singer) knew the design team of the Devon, so I managed to spend the best part of the evening enjoying talking technical with the engineers. In retrospect, this alone was a major feat as by the time we left the party I had (along with the rest of the Singer lads) gone without sleep for 40 hours in order to get the car built and to the launch. Apparently the Devon team had pretty much done the same......

My absolute, favorite porsche (even more than the 959 or a red 993 speedster with colorado plates )
FMy first encounter with a 906 was driving a RUF 911 on the backroads of Manheim... and I see this silver 904/6 driving the opposite direction... it stopped me dead in my tracks... and he was really pushing it !
(it is probably the only car I would ever consider getting a 'replica' of... just b/c it is so unique and rare)

hey, look what I found. Parade lap photos:
some guy with a SPDSTER

I think this is Scott's? (note the guy "parked" to the right )

Here is the orange car on the way to his parking spot... pretty interesting sequence of shots available. He started out on the far right of the CS. Guess he saw the drop and panicked a bit.
Cut off the MC cop to boot. Oops.

Entire sequence can be seen startign around shot 4662 http://www.photoshelter.com/gallery/...IwgdQ--&ppg=25
My black car

There are also bridge shots available.

Just got off the Phone with Sam Cabiglio and he sent me this link of him talking about Jerry's 917. It is pretty cool seeing the 917 come into Pebble Beach with it's light's on just like in the Movie LeMans

wish I could!
They are all by a pro photograher and can't be downloaded or snagged, even the samples. I figured I should just link to them...
but here is the catalog of shots:

He also told me it's relatively easy to drive.............
From what I've been told the hardest car to drive was the 935. Is was a monster on wheels.
I've got more pictures coming up.
Thanks for the link!

Since we are talking about Jerry ... Here are a few additional photos of the Porsche race cars receiving awards at Pebble ...
Sorry about the photo quality ... these are scanned images taken by a friend with a telephoto lens.

Holy Cow!!! Look at all the people!!!! And to think I thought the track was crowded on Saturday afternoon.
Here are a few shots taken on Saturday morning in the Porsche Paddock. There were a lot of Porsche's there, but it didn't seem to be as many as there were in 1998 for the 50th anniversary celebration.
This car is EXACTLY like Robert's first 911 he bought waaaaaaaay back in 1967. He said it was a trip to see it there. We never say the owners or we would have asked to see the serial number. Maybe it was his beast
Anyone want to buy this car? It's only 90 grand...
Another interesting 'tribute' car:

More of the above zebra 911...
RLer EB847's pix from 996 forum's "my pix from monterey car week (a lot)" thread...
Incredible photo of the parade lap participants' queue: it continues off-camera to the bottom right, curves up to the top right (bottom photo), continuing in the distance in-frame at the top left (back to following photo).
Organizer that's been in charge of similar events for the last decade said it was the most vehicles they had ever had!!!
