According the seller of this "Pur Sang":
aluminum is normally a recycled product, resulting in a variety of impurities in the alloys. This has no effect on the characteristics of the material, but on its appearance. After polishing and anodizing the aluminum there can be different degrees of gloss.

Not so on the Veyron: there are no differences in gloss here. Because a single, special alloy is used exclusively: AlMgSi 0.3 Vitral 42.

These chromed or all aluminum ones are wild to look at. It's hard to turn away from them though, like a morbid accident. You can't help but stare in awe...
