CV Venting through axle

actually now that you've posted that pic, i'd say both. inner had hole that goes all the way through the axle, and stub axle has hole, so outer one is vented too.

I use the Swepco grease purchased from Pelican parts

I am not sure what the purpose it would be to vent it through the hub end, as it would vent into the CV boot? The hub end is disconnected at the universal joint.

Robin -- did you catch this post? The venting has to go somewhere external to the axle. if it didn't the boots would just balloon up as used to happen on some track cars before venting.

I just finished replacing the CV boot on my front driveshaft of the my 996 C4. After I removed the CV on the hub side I double checked and there are no hole for venting in the drive shaft, at least not on the hub end.
Another 996 cost saving item?
