They have vacuum booster assist for the brakes like the rest of the RWD cars?

Do you mean the C4S?. The C2S has the same braking system as the NB's.

I believe that only the C4S with the big reds shares the same hardware as the turbo.

I own a C4S (and previously a 964 C4), so I'm intimately familiar with the hydraulic pump and assist. Question on another list went on and on and on and on about sucky BMW E36 brakes on the track, vacuum assist, etc. So of course a guy who used to have a C2S pops up. And I had a lapse on how they are outfitted!

Yep, vacuum assist just like the NB's. No experience with the E36 on the track, but the standard 993 brakes are actually pretty decent.

Only the AWD have the hydraulic pump, & only the turbo has the hydraulic clutch.

I have had the BIG reds on my 993 TT, the PCCBS on both of my GT3s and now Big Reds on my 09 C2S and I have YET to find a Porsche Brake system that wasnt outstanding.

i agreed, but the first time you are on a track where you have to slow down from ~ 140 to 30 to make a sharp left, you realize that as good as the factory supplied stoppers are..................... the aftermarket industry is justified.

cheers

All current 911s have hydraulic clutches....the turbos have power assist hydraulic clutches.
