Looks like a nice car at a fair price. You'll get some opinions that you'll want to wait for a manual transmission and that the color combo is not the most desirable...BUT - it's your money and you should buy what you want. I personally think that the Arena Red is a very nice color - and that the grey looks good on it.

I say go for it - after you get a PPI. Make sure you find someone that deals in later model Porsches to look it over for the PPI.

My Porsche dealer hear loves my 993 - but everyone at the dealership or shop would think air cooled was when you rolled your windows down.

If that dealership fixes 993s - probably not that big of an issue. The car looks pretty clean.

Is the premium for a phat ass still $10K? If so, would anyone pay $29K for a NB tip? Maybe, if it's nice and because of the full records and 2 owners.

Haven't seen Cup IIs on a WB in a while. I wonder if they have a weirdo 17x10(?) ET45 size or if they are standard 17x9 ET55 with a spacer?

If you have to a Tip, you could move forward to the PPI phase...

Seams like a deal, but it does have the wrong wheels on it.

My preference is tiptronic as the car will be my daily driver...

More thoughts and opinions would be great!

coming from a tippy owner in todays market, with needing new tires etc and what I know now about these cars......I would offer 34k!!:icon501: not taking mileage into consideration..

edit: hmm, the suspension has been done it seems..so that changes things ..

Yes sorry the car has the aftermarket Bilstein suspension on it...

So what wheels would this car have come with?

Typically 18" like the one in my avatar..

And if u buy and looking for those wheels to buy, I have them collecting dust in my garage..lol

btw, make sure and have a leak-down and compression test done - outside of ur regular PPI...

I've looked on autotrader and cars.com and it would appear prices are in the upper 40's and into the 50's for tiptronics...check out Truspeed or Int'l Sportscars as well. I know tips aren't the preference for these cars so I'm surprised to see prices so high...hence why I thought this car was a good deal.

Confused??? Definately will get this car in for an independant PPI for the leak down etc.

Turbo wheels or BBS LM's will be the order of the day. Still undecided what to do for wheels.

But I first need to get a 993...ha-ha

no one really knows what's a good deal in this market.

if you are willing to hold out you can probably find a desperate seller, but you might have to compromise on what you get (color combos, tip v. manual, s v. non-s etc)

if you find a car that you really love for a price that's fair i'd say go for it (and 39k certainly seems fair to me for a S with those miles...even a tip))

If that is a color combo and trans you want, I would get the PPI done and go from there. 34K seems like a fair price. 39K is a little high. Good luck.

Those are the correct original wheels given the option codes I believe. The CS came standard with 17" cups, although a lot had tech wheels as an original option or added later (like mine). I think that car is identical to mine, less the Tip. If you are looking for a tip, it looks like a very nice car. I love the 2-tone black/grey interior on the S-cars. I'd agree the price is a little high given the miles, but if it's the car you are looking for go for it and make an offer. Also ask the current owner how much oil it's using, that is a good indication of valve guide health that may be hard to identify during a PPI.

As long as the PPI (with leakdown test) checks out OK, it looks like a good one. Id' see if the maintenance records are available, too.

Tiptronic cars don't tend to be as abused as manual transmission models often do so thats in your favor. :) :)
