Option Codes 993tt

Fellow 993 owners. I am trying to understand the option codes sticker in the service book of my 993tt. I have been looking at Porsche Option Decoder web page. Some of the codes are not translated there I believe.

I bought my 993tt from 1997 2 years ago second hand. Artic silver/classic grey. It is a standard 408 hp engine with 63k miles. One of the previous owner probably installed an front oil cooler afterwards. It has carbon fiber interior, 92 litres tank, hardback sport seats, no sunroof and a mobile phone installation.

I don´t know which original stereo that was provided. Today an Alpine is installed. I believe it has had an Cd changer in the past. Under the passenger seat there is an Nokia amplifier. I was provided with an old Porsche Blaupunk stereo but I am not sure its ever been installed in the car. The car was delivered late november 1996 to its first owner in Germany.

Thank you Porschefan for the four codes. I will edit my first post. It makes it easier to se whats missing.

I used the same web page you guys recommend above. Still missing a couple of codes. Hope someone will se this thread and fill in whats missing.

Is there anyone who know if this part tells anything (from the first post)?

Found this on a german site that Google translated into english:

It does not explain much. Makes you wonder what VRS stands for.

Could this be engine and gearbox numbers?

C00 is a countrycode for Germany according to the site mention down below. European country´s have different codes in some cases, which is probably due to emission demands.

Still don´t know what the following codes means.

993 770 (the 993 leads me to what we usually call our generation of Porsche for. However 770 does´t mean anything and I have not found anything that explains it. The same goes with the rest of the codes.

993-770 is the Series Type Code and 770 stands for Twin Turbo. G6451 is the Transmission Code for 6 speed gearbox used in the M220 Turbo models made in 96/97/98. I'm still looking for information that would explain MB 460-61U.

I think that you have made a mistake reading code MB460-61U. I bet that what you should have read instead M6460-61U. M6460 is the Engine Type Code for 1998 993 Turbo and 61U is the Engine Series ID Code. However, I can't find this last code in the documentation I have. Probably you have also made a mistake reading this code and it would be 61W which is the code for 98 models.

I am sorry. Checked with my service book again and you are correct. It should read M6460-61U. To bad the print is not that clear and open up for different interpreting. It is clearly not a "61w" in the end. Compared it with the serial number which starts with "w" and it does not look the same. If "61u" does not exist in the documentation maybe it should read "61w".

I also have option codes 09991, 09981, 023 handwritten. Did you ever discover what 023 means? I have a 1996 Carrera, USA. I have also contacted the Exclusive Program directly and they are researching if for me, but it has been a few weeks with no results yet. Thanks

Just saw this post by accident when searching for option codes. I read you message in my profile a while back when I was logged in and answered you. You might not have seen that. Anyway I never found out that the 023 in handwritten means. If you have found out. I would still be interested in knowing. I never contacted Porsche as you did.

Porsche AG told me that it is an "internal factory code" (no kidding). Unfortunately they did not have more information. I guess it will remain a mystery for now . . .

My 993 has OEM floor mats with a silver crest sewn on. Maybe this is the option. Do you have anything different about your floor mats?
