I'm still around and kickin. Up to 239,000+. Bought a new 335XI and gave the 911 the fall and winter off. It was on sale and I couldn't resist. I anticipate hitting 250000 miles this year at some point.

Have you got an engine heater for your car, and what are your criteria for cold starts? i.e. do you have a no start minimum temperature.
I would think that with synthetic oil in the sump, they could be started at some pretty low temperatures.

I am on my second clutch and alternater. The exhaust was replaced in 2000 @ 89000 miles after it was damaged in a collision.
The first 8 years (100000 miles) I owned the car I lived in Southern VA and cold wasn't much of an issue. Now I live in suburban Phila and it gets a bit colder. I don't do anything special in the cold. I always start the car, let the oil splash around for 30 seconds or so, then drive gently (<4000 rpm, gentle throttle inputs) for the first mile or so until the engine starts to develop some heat. then drive it like I stole it.

You are definitely maximizing the fun-factor/dollar out of that car. I hate to see cars not get proper "exercise". Obviously not an issue for you!
Are all the miles "one-owner"? From your response above, you have NOT done any engine work, correct? Damn impressive!
Cheers, and many more happy miles!

Bought the car new with ~40 miles on it. It had been one of the Porsche display cars at the 1996 Detroit Auto Show. It was purchased after the show by Holbert Porsche in Willow Grove, PA. They traded it to Haywood Clarke Porsche in Midlothian, VA for a red/tan C4S and I bought it from them. Wayne was the only mechanic that serviced the car at the various incarnations of the Porsche dealership in and around Richmond, VA. Brian at Holbert's Porsche is it's second mechanic and has been servicing the car since 2005. It has not had any major engine or transmission repair. I don't baby the car, but I am meticulous about warming the car up and maintaining it.
