993 Insurance

I've also been thinking about insuring my 993 for agreed value with a classic car insurer. I've seen several threads that recommend the usual suspects, like Leland, Grundy, Heacock, etc. but I don't think I've ever seen anybody talk about their experiences with one of these companies when they've made a claim. Is the process reasonably smooth, or are there more hassles involved than with a traditional insurance company? Anyone care to share their experiences, good or bad, when dealing with a classic car insurer for a claim?

I have had Hagerty for 5 years with my Bronco and thinking of moving my C4 over to them. Savings will probably to equate to about $250 a year, rather than staying with 21st Century (formerly AIG)

Surprised no one has mentioned J.T. Taylor Classic Car Insurance. Don't know if 993s are yet old enough to be eligible, but my 1964 Ford T-Bird Sports Roadster is insured with them, full coverage for $166/year.

You guys don't know how good you have it....up here in Vancouver insuring a 993 costs from $1800/yr (for really basic insurance, or OK insurance but many years of driving) up to $3500+/year (for someone very young or bad driving record).
$750 a year is REALLY cheap!
Oh, they do not cover any track time or drivers ed time.
Cheers,
Mike

I have just switched to Haggerty as well. The savings from State Farm were significant - maybe $400/yr to go to an agreed value policy. i have my car at $45k, which is a compromise. It is more than I paid for the car, but less than I would sell it for. My big concern is the blue book prices in the event of a large claim. I knew I would have to struggle with my old provider to get what it is worth.
In addition, it makes no sense for State Farm to insure it like a normal car when I drive it once every week or so....
I also would like to hear someone tell me about thier experience with claims with Haggerty, but I would suspect that us guys who drive it seldomly have fewer claims......

I have used Grundy for several cars and been very pleased with their coverage, relative lack of restrictions on use of the car, and pleasant service. Fortunately, I have had no claims.
