Just another value check...'97 Blk/Blk 6-Speed
Well…I’m giving very serious consideration to selling my car. I have been bitten by the Ferrari bug... Like others before me, I am seeking the wisdom of the Rennlist group to help me determine the value of my car. Please let me know what things you see that are good or bad for the value, or if I am leaving anything out. I will have plenty of photos to support everything.
1997, C2, 6-speed, black/black, 49K miles, owned since 8/99, all records since new (spreadheet with details), exceptional condition…especially interior, never crashed.
- Porsche 18” hollowspoke twist wheels - (2) 993.362.136.00 and (2) 993.362.140.01
- Bridgestone RE050 tires with 518 miles on them
- Silver Porsche crest centercaps
- Eric’s bumper plugs
- RSR mufflers…original mufflers included
- Motor Sound Kit w/ chrome oval tips
- Ruf rear spoiler activation module (up @ 80mph, down @ 50)…original included
- Bilstein PSS-9 coilover suspension
- Porsche Turbo sway bars (F=22mm, R=21mm)
- Lowered to European Sport height
- Battery mat

Chris, how long does that clitch last, anyway? Is it as bad as they say? I see clutches replaced at 25-30K miles. Why?
As far as the value of the '97 C2, I'd say $28-29K, maybe a bit more as the mileage is low and records are all there. Others may and will disagree.

Even though the 360 F1 computer modulates the clutch, they seem to wear quite quickly, a common issue with these cars indeed. They seem to get ~20k miles per clutch.

Your car looks very familiar. Sad to see you selling after ten years but a Ferrari would be fun. Tough market to sell in but I'd hope you could still get low 30's. Low miles, nice upgrades, and same owner for ten years would be a plus if I was looking.

Allen has a beautiful car and I hate to see him sell it. Nice mods, color combo and history with low miles. I think he could get over 30.
Allen, we should meet up again before you get rid of it!

I paid $31K for my 96 with 68K on it, and none of the upgrades. adjusting for location, and I am GUESSING here, but there are probably fewer 993s in Al, than there are here in CA, so I would say mid 30K, maybe a little less because the economy is bad. Also depends on how fast you want to sell.

The turquoise blue '97 that I was looking at... with 26k miles, aftermarket exhaust (of unknown origin), aerokit, 1st generation Gt3 wheels, and Eibach springs with OEM shocks... sold for $35k.
Just a data point .

I'm looking at a 360. The search process is pretty exhausting...considering the cost of buying a "bad" car. But there is a lot of information and good people willing to help with the process, so it's not too bad.
