I wasn't able to find one on this side of the pond, but thats not to say that there isn't someone out there. I don't really see why it matters though? They are very inexpensive and shipping doesn't take that long (it was sent via air mail).

Bulb holders seem impossible to find. The all in one LEDs from superbright are the way to go.

Is there a link somewhere in this thread already?

Not so, look at the link I posted on page 9.

11 for the gauges and 2 more for the A/C control. See page 9 for more info.

Thank you for the link info, AZ Targa! I purchased a full set and will install them along with my other LED upgrades from Tore.

Yeah, you want B8.4D bulbs. Less work, just remove the old and put in the new, done! I did my entire dash as CCU. Looks much better.

I did that because I didn't want my dash to be blue; I wanted a more "white" (warm white), closer to the stock lights. These bulbs are 2900k v. the ~5500k of the blue light (bright white).

I used cool white. Also, replaced all the warning lights.

Made a quick video (not in total darkness):

Here's the CCU:

I always kinda wondered how amber would work out as the backlight color. It may look like stock.

How many are needed just for the instrument dial back lighting and how many are needed for the warning lights. Reason I'm asking is I'm thinking of doing red for the back lighting and white for the warning lights.

Thanks

For the back lighting of the gauges only, there are 11. As for the number of warning lights I am unsure of how many you need, I would assume one for each warning (there are a lot of lights in the gauges).

I would like to update my instrument lights but I have a question about what type of bulb is needed.

DobermanDad used B8.4D bulbs:

However, AZ Targa used B8.5D bulb holders:
I purchased B8.5D 509T Twistlock Bulb/LED holder from: http://www.crazyleds.co.uk/509T-twist-lock-holder..html
It seems odd that both will fit but they evidently do. Is one closer in size/geometry to the OEM bulb holders? Or is either one OK to use?

Default Led bulbs

I believe ( hoping since I ordered bulbs and holders separately per AZ Targa) that the combo bulb/holder is only available,in the " cool blue" vs. warm, white which necessitates the separate holder. Would be nice if warm white combo was available for one stop shopping. Feel free to correct me if wrong.

I also would prefer the "warm white" LEDs. I Googled B8.4D bulb holders and didn't find anything so combination of LEDs and B85.D holders identified by AZ Targa looks like the best solution. Since they fit in his instruments they must be OK.

However, DobermanDad said he used B8.4D (when B8.5D are also available from Super Bright LEDs for these "integrated" LEDs).

I guess that I could take out one of the existing bulbs and compare it with the diagrams on the Super Bright LEDs website...

what is it like when driving in the dark? How much will the leds dim via the rheostat? and is the CCU disturbing at night with leds? Will do this upgrade soon!

Re B8.4D vs B8.5D - for what it's worth, I pulled out one of the existing bulbs and they are B8.4D.
