1997 C4S 40K Miles, Fair Price?
I would like to get the experts opinions of what a fair price would be for a 1997 C4S with 40K miles, Arena Red, Grey interior. Its for sale at a used dealership, the dealer picked up the car on trade, but does not have any records/maintenance history. He says the car is in "great condition" but I will have a PPI verify that statement.
Your thoughts would be much appreciated.

FWIW---- How much, what dealer and what does the car fax say. For $19.95 you can get unlimited access to Car Fax for one month on line and it is extreamly helpful.
Tells where the car has been, how many owners ect. Personaly I would stay away from cars that were on lease, just my feeling, I also would not buy a car with no records. ask them to copy the pages from the maintiance book that has where the car was delivered, where and to whom.
There are a lot of cars out there and it is a buyers market. GL
PPI PPI PPI !!!!!!!!

The Dealer is MDCarz in Maryland. The car is not listed on their website but here is a link www.mdcarz.com. Anyone know/used them before?

FWIW...I enquired about that '97 C4S last week, and I'm almost positive it's the same one - Red/Grey 41k mi...except it was a trade -in at a Chevy dealer in Maryland and listed for $45k. I called and they said they just wholesaled it for $31k because it wasn't for them.

Good price, as long as there is no major body damage. If you do not want to get a car fax, the dealer should be willingt to share his with you, if he says he does not have one ask him if he bought is without it. The report will show if the mileage is correct and the title is not salvage. You could ask a renlister who lives close by, to eye ball it for you?
