I have located a set of A8's, only problem is both are driver side seats.
Can the back adjuster **** be swapped to the other side?

Unless the recline ***** have been cut off of the inboard side. I did that to mine to allow the seats to move without the **** rubbing on the center console and tearing it up (unfortunately a few years too late).
You could just cut off the end of the recline spindle and weld the nub onto the other side. That would be my solution. I actually kept the part I cut off so I could do exactly that in the future if need be.
If you want A8s and you find a pair I wouldn't let them go because of this!
